The last few weeks of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) saw a lot of action, engagement and, more importantly, a spirit of oneness within the Galadari Brothers group. And on Friday, all those efforts and sweat culminated in the spectacular Galadari Fest 2019 - a carnival-style grand celebration of fitness.
Over 2,500 employees of the group and their families were invited to the fest at the ICC Sports Academy, where the finals of the group's cricket and football tournaments were held.
Promoting the UAE's spirit of tolerance, the grand event saw several multicultural dances and power-packed performances on a massive stage that was constructed right next to the football field.
The show kicked off with a cute performance by tiny tots from a Dubai choreography school, followed by a traditional Marathi dance by an all-women squad - mostly mothers. Both the performances were choreographed by Dubai-based choreographer Arun Lobo. The spectators were then engaged in a 15-minute Zumba dance session by Shiamak Davar-trained choreographers. The best dancers took home vouchers worth Dh400.
A team of talented musicians from Khaleej Times then took to the stage and gave a powerful live performance of Bollywood as well as English songs that got the crowd swaying.
A flash mob suddenly took over the field as employees of different companies surprised the crowd with an electrifying dance performance.
RJ Anil Trivedi upped the energy levels of the spectators with his wit, fun one-liners and mimicry skills. A dhol (Indian drum) player went around the venue entertaining the crowds and got them to groove to its rhythm.
The carnival also included a number of food and game stalls, including a kids' area with a variety of games.
The show ended with an awards ceremony, where the winners were invited to the stage and given medals and trophies by Suhail Galadari, Director of Galadari Brothers; Mohammed Galadari, Director of Galadari Brothers; and Mohamed Yahya Kazi, Director and Group CEO, Galadari Brothers.
