Sheikh Mohammed announced it during Dubai Culture and Arts Authority meeting.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced a special long-term visa for artistes on Tuesday.
A new long-term visa for cultural purposes for artistes and creators was launched by the Dubai Ruler during a meeting with The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture).
During a meeting with Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed, the Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Sheikh Mohammed said that Dubai needs a new vision and coordinated effort for cultural activities, adding that Dubai has 6,000 companies that are related to arts and culture, five creative clusters, 20 museums and more than 550 cultural events that attract millions of visitors.
Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed said that seven cultural centers would be changed to "Life Schools", where new generations can learn skills in innovation, arts and culture.
"We approved the launching of a new artistic culture that differentiates Dubai from other cities - the income from an Arts Week for Good would be allocated for people in need", Sheikh Mohammed added.ERROR: Macro /ads/dfp-ad-article-new is missing!
